Attenuators Gold Finish

Attenuators reduce the signal level to allow a very loud audio source that is over loading an amplifier to a manageable level. For Example: A streaming device with a very high output voltage may require the volume control on the amplifier to be set very low. The appropriate attenuator value will reduce the input signal so the volume or level control will be in a more suitable rotation range. Attenuators add no noise or distortion and have an extremely flat frequency response.

The input is the female RCA connector and the output is the male RCA plug. These are sold in pairs and can be stacked for higher db attenuation. A 3db plugged into a 6db would result in 9db of attenuation. If your amplifier has a very low input impedance of less than 20K ohms (not common) then there will be a small amount of additional signal drop or attenuation.

These can also be used when connecting FMODs in series to achieve greater slopes and altering the crossover frequencies. That method improve the resulting slope.
